Setting up Multiple Sites

Posted by hrsites [May 14, 2008]

I just bought Pro Version of the app. I'm using SQL 2000 back-end. Initially, I setup lite version which was monitoring a site on my IIS Server. Now that I have Pro version I would like to monitor multiple sites on this IIS Server.

To setup on my 2nd site, I did following:
- Copy metatraffic2 to the root of my 2nd site.
- Ran Setup.asp
- On Setup.asp, do I create tables again. Actually, even If I want to, I can't, because they already exist.

so my question is, Do I need to change the table prefix on every site's setup.asp page that I want to track?

Can you please how setting up tracking for multiple sites work?

Thanks

Hello In the current version

Hello

In the current version of MetaTraffic, you need to have a unique table prefix for each web site that you wish to track if you want the installation to use the same database as other installations. There is no way around this at the current time.

It would be great if just

It would be great if just the Countries & Definitions tables didn't use the prefix.
These two tables could then be shared across multiple installations running from the same database.

Chad - congratulations on

Chad - congratulations on getting the site up again before EV1/The Planet are back online ;-)

thanks

Its been a trying time over the past few days. We were up temoporarily and then down most of today. And now up again just now.

So... is it feasible for

So... is it feasible for just the Countries & Definitions tables not to use a table prefix in future versions?

countries & definitions

Yes. We are putting together an update now and I don't think it will be in that release but I am going to push to have it in the next release.
